The Appetites of Our Bodies are Quite Strong
Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh, the godless human nature. When we belong to Christ our flesh should be crucified, or we are in the process of crucifying it. It takes time to keep the flesh under control to the point it no longer gives you orders, and you’re obeying them. The flesh (your body) has not been saved as our human spirits have (Romans 8:23). The sin nature is still very present in our bodies after getting saved. We must focus our energy on not yielding to our lower nature. The more of God’s teachings and precepts we live, the less our flesh we speak to us with authority. Paul said, “I keep my flesh under daily” (1 Corinthians 9:27). It’s all connected; our flesh, unrenewed minds, inordinate desires, lying, stealing, killing, disobedience, unruliness, etc. is all connected to form a synergy with this fallen world system to keep us all defeated. If we don’t actively seek the things of God, there will be so much fleshly baggage, we will fail in life. If you belong to Christ, don’t let the hunger of your body’s inordinate desires take you out. Victorious living is available for everyone.
