May as Well Fess Up, He Knows Our Thoughts Anyway

David is telling the Lord to search his heart to see if there is any wicked or hurt way about himself. To ask this of God means you’re truly trying to do the right thing. Most of us run and hide when we screw up, we don’t want anyone to know what we did. This mentality of David speaks volumes of him wanting all wrong doings of wickedness or offensive motives against God, out of his life. The Lord knows we’re not perfect and He sees us when we mess up. That’s why in 1 John 1:9 it is written to christians not sinners, because we still have the propensity to screw up. We are not perfect until we shed these earthen vessels transitioning into the next life. The Lord knows all things about us, because He is omniscient. David even had the nerve to ask God to try him, and know his thoughts. That’s one area from time to time, I’d rather the Lord not look at, but thank God for the blood of Jesus. Eventually we can get to the point of asking God to try us (test us), and see if there’s any wicked or hurtful way in us. Then the pride problem which would stop us from asking the Lord to look at our ugliness will have been eradicated. Can we join David and say, search me on God and know my heart?
