Forgive Now! It’s too Costly to Keep the Offense

To say you forgive someone is one thing, but to have a heart change of forgiveness is far better. When you bring up again that which you said you forgave the other person for, you didn’t have the proper heart change of forgiveness. You mentally agreed to the idea of forgiveness, but your heart was not in it, your emotions had other ideas. So the next time you have a heated discussion, with the same person you supposedly forgave, and you bring up again the last issue you said you forgave that person for, you didn’t forgive them in your heart. Holding a grudge against someone because they offended you, but they recognized their error and asked you to forgive them, but you held on to the offense for some reason. Unforgiveness is wrong on every level, and it will consume the person harboring it. It is a dirty weed spreading a poisonous substance internally eating you alive. Unforgiveness that has festered in a person for months or even years, is a person full of bitterness, strife, no self-control, or kindnesses displayed (you fake it well). Even though you were hurt, disrespected, etc. maybe even in an unwarranted way, what you do with that offense can make or break you for the rest of your life. Deciding to let the offense go, is God’s way. To hold on to the offense is Satan’s way. Forgive now! It’s too costly to keep.
