We must be on guard against all kinds of greed. It is the love of money, not money in itself that’s evil (1 Timothy 6:10). Many people miss the scripture verse about money being evil, it is the root of all evil once it is unnaturally coveted. Nothing in itself is necessarily evil until mankind gets its demonically influenced hands on it. We must be mindful of the many ways greed can come for us. It can be very subtle in appearance through justification of wanting something you don’t really need, or truly want. That need is more like lust; an uncontrolled inordinate desire. As we meditate in God’s word day and night, we will make our own way prosperous (Joshua 1:8). Having an understanding of God’s word about humility will help hold back and position us to stand against all kinds of greed. It’s not only a greed for money, but other areas of life can be exploited by greed if you’re not aware. The only way to be constantly aware is to be in a daily relationship with the Lord. He gives us new mercies every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23), but you must be there to receive it. Life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.

We are to be on guard and constantly alert, watch and pray concerning the return of Christ. We can see by the current events in the news that the last of the last days before the rapture are upon us. The final prophecies of the Bible are just about finished, none left. After this war in Israel there will be peace for a while and then the return of Christ can and will happen. Every soul must be given an opportunity to choose Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of their life. Only the Lord knows when that has concluded. After that the end of this age will be completed and then life with God on the new earth will happen (Revelation 21:1-4). For all Christians; continue watching and praying until He returns, so as many people can know about the gospel as possible. The time has never been so close to the return of Christ then ever before. Get your spiritual life in order if you’ve been slacking, don’t let Him find you without the proper credentials to get into heaven. Believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead for your justification, and confess with your mouth that he is Lord, and you shall be saved. (Romans 10:9-10).

“The Kingdom of heaven is like something precious buried in a field, which a man found and hid again; then in his joy he goes and sells all he has and buys that field.” The treasure of the earth is the kingdom of God. It cannot be seen with our natural eyes. Therefore you won’t find any ocular proof of it in this physical realm. The Kingdom of God is very real and exists alongside this natural realm. To connect to it you’ll need a relationship with Jesus Christ first (Mark 1:14-15). Then you’ll need to seek it out like nobody’s business. The man spoken of in today’s text, who sold all he had to get this valuable field containing the treasure, was excited once he knew what he was getting. The Kingdom of God is truly the hidden treasure of the earth. Through the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ we enter the kingdom of God. It’s a lifestyle that helps us live above the evil in this world. By seeking first in life the kingdom of God and His righteousness, all of our provisions for living will be added unto us simply by the effort of seeking the kingdom of God (Matthew 6:33). Once we live in accordance with Kingdom rules and boundaries, we see life through a whole new lens of victorious living.

We all get our own ideas of how our plans should go. It is the Lord’s purpose that prevails. Many plans are in a man’s mind, but it is the Lord’s purpose for him that will stand. For the best possible outcome for our plans, we should consider the Lord. Acknowledge Him in all your ways and He’ll direct your path (Proverbs 3:6). Once we get the Lord on board from the beginning of our plans, especially during the conception of how to go about it, the work will prevail and stand after completion. We are more than conquerors through Christ who loved us (Romans 8:37). Anything that is of the Lord’s purpose for us to do, it is vitally important that we follow Him. Even though we may not understand it at the moment, or even if we can’t see how it’s going to work out, follow God’s leading by faith. Trust Him right through trouble, heartache, and even weakness to get the job completed no matter what. It is only God’s purpose that prevails so why not get with the purpose of God He put in you from birth. Seek Him and you’ll know it.

The only way to not sin before God unintentionally or any other way is to lay up His word in our hearts. Our hearts must be fixed on the Lord and His way of life (Psalm 57:7). We were all born into sin and shaped in iniquity (Psalm 51:5). The word of God is spirit and life giving to everyone who wants it. It will sustain us in tough times and victoriously bring us through. God’s word is what gives our faith wings (Romans 10:17). Once we’ve become broken for the Lord, and totally yielded to his word, we will avoid many obstacles in life. As our footsteps become ordered of the Lord, He will give direction in the exact way we should be going in life (Psalm 37:23). We are laborers together with God (1 Corinthians 3:9). He never intended for us to have lived on earth without His input on how to live. Especially now since this world fell into darkness due to Adam and Eve’s disobedience in the garden. It’s quite easy to mess up and fall into sin because this world is totally geared for a deceptive, pleasurable, sinful life that’ll take you straight to hell. The devil is here to kill steal and destroy, it’s his purpose to hate you (John 10:10). You wonder why stuff happens to you for no apparent reason, it’s the demonic influences all around. The sure shot to success in this jacked up world is to get God’s word in your heart and He’ll be in you fighting for you.

The word today is presenting the command of love to be put into action towards our brothers and sisters in Christ. Loving one another with brotherly affection as members of one family. Love will always be the bedrock of God’s Kingdom. We are love children of a love God. It’s in our spiritual DNA. It will need to be exercised from time to time for growth purposes. The love of God was shed aboard in our hearts at the new birth (Romans 5:5). We all have the propensity to be like Jesus when he walked the earth. As we love one another the love of God is being perfected in us; matured to the Lord’s satisfaction and beyond (1 John 4:12). To love others more deeply requires loving God more intimately and profoundly. Once love reaches a point when you’re no longer easily angered, and can take persecution for your faith on a regular basis without concern, you’re on the right track. The more unlovely people you show God’s love to, the more love will grow in you. After a while of walking in this level of love, there will be no law that can come against you (Galatians 5:23). You will have the Lord’s full graces, His total favor, and mercy exactly when it’s needed to bail you out or to thrust you forward victoriously. Love never fails!

The glory of God is declared among the nations. What He has done in the earth through His divine intervention of miraculous deeds is visible to the eyes of saints and sinners alike. What we do with this reality of life is digested differently by each person. Having been influenced by different environments and experiences, our perception can become impaired for understanding spiritual things. The Bible speaks of mankind being without excuse for not accepting and believing there is a God based on creation itself (Romans 1:20). The big bang theory concerning creation is nothing more than a theory. A theory is a supposition established upon ignorance of the subject under discussion. The Bible makes more common sense for creation than that, but it is based on us believing that the bible is true, and then acting on it everyday. We can declare God’s glory based on creation itself, look around. The stars, moon, sun, mountains, trees, the ocean. Nothing just happens in life concerning creation unless another entity is behind it. We are to declare His glory among the nations. Let them know the truth behind creation, and life as God intended.

Even in the middle of a bad situation the hand of God will lead us out. The right hand of God is talked about in His word. His right hand will hold me fast according to today’s text. God’s right hand can uphold us in and through any situation and bring us out of it victoriously. It is talked about how God’s right hand achieves strength, and it is valiant in its way (Isaiah 41:10). Many times I’ve spoken about how our faith is the hand that takes from God. To get anything done in this earth realm with the Lord’s help, will be done by faith. We are trusting the Lord for our provisions, health, relationships, and everything that has to do with life on planet earth. Without faith it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6). Faith comes by hearing and hearing by God’s word (Romans 10:17). Pleasing God gets His right hand involved in our bad or unwanted situations. The closer we get to the Lord the benefits get better. But as the Lord has said, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge” (Hosea 4:6). Find out what belongs to you in Christ. It makes life a lot easier when we acknowledge the Lord in all our ways, He will direct our path when we do (Proverbs 3:6). God’s right hand has you covered, believe it and it will be so.

Once we start thinking we are wise in our own eyes, that’s a problem. We are to think of ourselves highly but not more highly than we ought to (Romans 12:3). We have the uncultivated wisdom of God in us ready to be expressed through knowledge of the Holy One and faithful dependency on His word. God has given us everything that pertains to life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3). The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom (Proverbs 9:10). As we reference the Lord, honor Him, put Him first, we position ourselves for Godly fear to rise up in us. To be wise in your own eyes but no one else’s means Houston, we have a problem with the intake valve. You’re taking in too much praise of yourself and pride has slipped through the door of your psyche. Jesus will always be the rightful star of the show because He earned it by dying for our sins, being crucified on a cross. A balance in this world is necessary for our natural human life with its activities, as well as our spiritual lives with the activities going on in that realm, which affect us in this natural one. Do not be wise in your own eyes. Reference the Lord and shun evil.

Break up your unplowed ground; for it is time to seek the Lord. The unplowed ground is where we must allow the storms of life to shape and mold us into God’s masterpiece. It will break up the undisturbed area of your life where the word of God has not been allowed to express itself in your everyday life. As we become more mature in the things of God, we sow seeds of righteousness for ourselves so we can reap the fruit of unfailing love. It is time to break up that unplowed, undisturbed area of our life, and leave our comfort zone to seek the Lord. Sowing seeds of right standing with the Lord is like sowing seeds of love. To be in right standing with God is to know His love. Without the storms in our lives there’s no way to develop long term stability. We must stand and trust God through the storm not save us from it (John 17:15). He will walk us through it so we can be all we’re supposed to be in life. No pain, no gain in this area of life as well.
