Bad Thoughts Come, but They Don’t Have to Stay
Sometimes we have to shift our thinking over to better thoughts. Our minds can become overloaded at times. Anytime we go through a bad situation or a challenging circumstance, our minds get real busy. At this time we will be offered, fear, confusion, doubt, anxiety, worry, etc. This is when we should be thinking about whatever is true, noble, pure, lovely, admirable, and what is right. On these things we are admonished to think on, during our mental battles. Change the channel in your mind to happy thoughts, maybe some great times you’ve had with family and friends in the past. We have to guard not only our hearts but our minds as well. We cannot control the thoughts that come into our minds, but we can bring those thoughts into subjection to the word of God (2 Corinthians 10:5). That’s why it is vitally important to renew our minds with God’s thoughts (Romans 12:2). Renewing our minds with the word of God gives us a mental rule book as to how we’re supposed to handle the thoughts that come. So cast down every thought, every high thing that tries to exalt itself above the knowledge of God’s word.
