The Fruit Must be Developed!

The fruit that the Spirit of God produces in our new recreated human spirits is love, joy, peace, patience, faithfulness, kindness, goodness, meekness, and self-control. There are nine fruits to be developed in us. Fruit implies growth so the work to be done for allowing these fruits to grow is based on dealing with opposition. We must invoke our will to not shy away from dealing with trouble, and storms of life. If we ask the Lord to help us, He will. There are many blessings we will never obtain without dealing with the suffering of bad situations and crises. To develop love we need unlovely people in our life, for a time. Joy comes by way of a lifestyle conducive to God’s word, the bible. Peace can be partially obtained by not hanging around certain people, and then seek the Lord everyday (Joshua 1:8). Patience can be further developed by dealing with people who get on your nerves. Kindness and goodness grow by simply practicing being kind and good to others on purpose. Faith comes by hearing God’s word over and over (Romans 10:17). Gentleness grows by being gentle on purpose and meekness grows as our knowledge of God grows. Self-control grows as we become more understanding of God’s word. These fruits are what makes us holy before God. Do your best to grow them.
